Hello, I have a number of Solaris 8 Sun servers that have open ports that I cannot identify. I see some with 1012-1020 (which are reserved ports according to the IANA. Lsof does not identify these. One server has all these on and one server just has 1017. *.1023 (3 Replies)

Jan 13, 2020 · Before you start making WSUS firewall ports and rules for this server, make sure all of the updates are connected to the right server. In this case, it would be the Microsoft server. The connection has to be set to the Microsoft server to receive any updates. Right now our firewall is set to have all network ports open by default, with a few exceptions. Unfortunately, bittorrent traffic has grown to the point where it kills our gateway server and I have no choice but to block it (I really would prefer not to). The only way to block bittorrent is to have ports closed by default.
